He was predeceased by: his parents, Ches Oxendine and Ethel Jane Oxendine; his wife Peggy Oxendine; his sons, Charles Christie, Fred Allen Oxendine and Alvin Scott Oxendine; his siblings, Jerry Oxendine, J. L. Oxendine, Linda Oxendine and Faye Oxendine; and his grandson Zachary Oxendine.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Oxendine of Pembroke, Michael Locklear of Pembroke, Cody Locklear of Red Springs, Penny Oxendine of Pembroke, Robin Taylor of Red Springs, Liz Goins, Connie Ray Christie of Red Springs and Casey Locklear of Maxton; his sister Brenda McKinney of Rowland; and his close friend Ben Frank Jacobs. He is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
