He was predeceased by: his parents, Herschel N. Hockett and Willie Blanche Stanton Hockett; his wife Janice Farlow; and his siblings, Louise Dameron, Hallie Gibbs and Herschel Needham Hockett, Jr..
He is survived by: his sons, Herschel Eugene Hockett (Anne) of Randleman and Keith Stanton Hockett (Betsy) of Randleman; and his grandchildren, Phillip Hockett (Jennifer), Ella Cribbs (Adam), Anna Sanner (Truman), Meredith Hardister (Andrew), Benjamin Hockett and Andrew Hockett (Keisha). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
