With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sonya Denise Hunter Poindexter (Randleman, North Carolina), born in Fairbanks, Alaska, who passed away on March 20, 2020 at the age of 52. She was predeceased by: her parents, Doyle Ray Hunter, Sr. and Brenda Faye Hunt Hunter; and her son Nicholas Adam "Nick" Poindexter. She is survived by: her husband Steve Poindexter; her children, Jarrod Poindexter, Stephen Poindexter Jr. (Dana), Felicia Holmes (Michael), Jeff Poindexter, Dustin Poindexter, Zach Poindexter (Melissa) and Jacob Poindexter (Sara); her grandchildren, Alex, Jackson, Nathan, Lauren, Rhyleah, Haiydnn, Kacyn, Audri, Ezra, Everett and Averie; and her godchildren, Jaycie, Jeremy Morris, Doyle Hunter, Jr., Sam Hunter and Corby Tucker.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are asking the public to limit any gatherings to under 50 individuals.
