He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Dawkins and Betty Henley Dawkins; and his stepson Rodney Voncannon. He is survived by: his wife Anita Burrow Dawkins; his children, Leslie Dawkins Hoover (Bradley), Johnny Dawkins, Jr. and Derek Dawkins (Jade); his stepdaughter Melanie Stewart (Travis); his siblings, Linda Dawkins, Michael Dawkins (Lee), Charles Dawkins (Paula) and Randy Dawkins (Sandi); and his grandchildren, Taylor Estes (Travis), Johnny Dawkins, III (Courtney), Tyler Dawkins (Lauren), Lindsey Davis (Nathan), Hailey Brown, Haven Brown, Sadie Dawkins, Adaline Dawkins, Tori Waynick, Ayden Stewart and Austin Hoover. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
