He was predeceased by: his wife Pam Wilson Deaton; and his parents, J. P. Deaton and Lib Kirkman Deaton. He is survived by: his children, Kim Deaton Norman (David) of Mt. Airy and Gregg Deaton (Laura) of Asheboro; his stepdaughters, Danielle Hussey (Jason) of Asheboro and Stephanie Rickard (Justin) of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Ashley King, Ashton Deaton and Caitlyn Deaton; and his stepgrandchildren, Jordan, Kamrin, Peyton, Aly and Grayson.
