He was predeceased by: his parent Robert James Deaton; and his siblings, William Deaton (Buster) and Mildred Deaton Mosley. He is survived by: his parent Irene Owens Deaton; his wife Joyce Saunders Deaton; his children, Maurice Deaton (Cathy) of Ramseur, NC, Jeffrey Deaton of Asheboro, NC and Christal Deaton Burford (Ricky) of Sophia, NC; and his sister Joyce Deaton Hussey of Seagrove, NC.. He is also survived by five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
