He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Franklin Kowalsky and Nora Jean Laman Kowalsky; his brother Lonnie Kowalsky; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Swickrath and Dianne Lafferty.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Kowalsky; his sons, Todd M. Kowalsky of Asheboro and Troy A. Kowalsky (Michelle) of Italy, TX; his sister Jan Swickrath of Elida, OH; his sister-in-law Lorna Ditto of Whitsett, NC; his grandsons, Cody M. Kowalsky (Ra'Tara) and Mason Womack; and his great grandchildren, Kelzie and Ka'Ziah Kowalsky.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204, and the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro, NC, 27203.
