He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Ann Cockman Caviness; and his parents, Diffie Sr. and Colon Brower Caviness, Sr.. He is survived by: his sons, William Anthony Caviness, June of Ramseur and Timothy Ray Caviness; his siblings, Marie Brady of Siler City and James "Bud" Caviness of Burlington; his grandchildren, Michael Caviness, Dawn of Kannapolis, Robert Caviness, Kelli of Ramseur and Christopher Caviness; and his great grandchildren, Adia Caviness, Aiden Caviness, Cole Caviness, Cadence Caviness, Braelyn Caviness and Nevaeh Cratt.
