She was predeceased by: her husband Merritt Cox; her parents, William "Oscar" and Primmie Browder Smith; and her siblings, Paul, Raymond, Roger, Harold, Elizabeth Gearren, Betty Parks, Opal Kirkman, Mabel Burrows and Myrtle Craven.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Cox Teague of Ramseur, Randy Dean Cox (Tammy) of Asheboro and Howard Ray Cox (Sandra) of Asheboro; her siblings, Barbara Davis of Seagrove, Doris Vunncannon of Asheboro, Faye York of Asheboro and John "Bud" Smith of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Joshua Teague of Virginia Beach, VA., Traci Teague Gilliam (Matt) of Asheboro and Sarah Cox of Asheboro; and her great grandchildren, Mikala, Isabella, Tyler Teague of Virginia Beach, VA., Alexa, Alison and Orion Gilliam of Asheboro.
