She was predeceased by: her parents, Lacy Lewis Strickland and Annie Madeline Coley Strickland; her husband Joseph Greer Sparks; her stepchildren, Mickey Jo Jennings, Sherry Thigpen and Michael Shane Sparks; her siblings, Alice Oats, Martha Robertson, Teresa Hurley and Gary Wayne Strickland; and her grandson Steven Joyce.
She is survived by: her children, William Rollins (Denise) of Ramseur, Donna McGee Garrett (Shawn) of Asheboro and Bert McGee (Amanda) of Asheboro; her stepchildren, Bob McGee (Shelia) of Ramseur and Annette McGee; and her grandchildren, Madeline Rollins, Katherine Chriscoe, Paige Strucinski (Osirus), Amber Lathan (Jake), Samantha Newby (Corey), Noah Swaney (Ayanna), Easton Garrett, Raylee Garrett, Michael Livengood, Bethany Whitcher, Rodney Whitcher (Haley), Jonathan McGee, Jr. (Kimberly), Jonathan Hunter McGee, Shanna Johnson, Sarah McGee, Robert McGee, Michael McGee, Kristin McGee, Tommy Joyce and Tony Joyce. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service (908 Albemarle Rd, Asheboro, NC 27203). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
