He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Thomas and Elinor Thomas; his brother Fred "Tom" Thomas, Jr.; and his son-in-law Glenn Petty. He is survived by: his wife Martha Allen Thomas; his daughter Amy Thomas Petty; and his grandchildren, Anna Galina Petty and William "Toly" Petty. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
