He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nunn and Sally Nunn; and his daughter Sandra Lawson. He is survived by: his wife Inez Nunn; and his children, Gloria Moore of Liberty, Mel Nunn Jr. (Erika) of Staley and Eddie Nunn (Rhonda) of Randleman. He is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1588 Liberty, NC 27298.
