He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cecil and Dorothy Haddock Hopkins; and his brother Cecil Eugene Hopkins. He is survived by: his wife Emma Jean Brown Hopkins; his children, Shannon H. May of Burlington, Christopher "Chris" Satterlee of Ramseur and Jerry Wayne Hopkins of Ramseur; his sister Patricia Spencer (Lynn) of Asheboro; and his granddaughters, Brittany and Tabitha May of Burlington.
