He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Hodgin Leonard; his parents, Edward "Ed" Leonard and Margaret Gant Leonard; and his siblings, Sydney Leonard and Sylvia Sutherland.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Leonard "Beth" Mace (Curtis) of Ramseur and John Michael "Mike" Leonard (Leigh) of Ramseur; his brothers, Patrick "Pat" Leonard (Sandra) of Liberty and Eddie Leonard (Debbie) of Ramseur; his grandchildren, Adrain Anderson, Peyton Leonard, Morgan Haney and Emily Leonard; and his sister-in-law Hilda Leonard of Franklinville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
