She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Skeen and Maggie Merritt Skeen; her son John Michael Staley; and her siblings, Betty Caviness, Charles Skeen and Tommy Skeen.

She is survived by: her husband John Calvin "J. C." Staley; and her niece Pam Teague (Harold) of Seagrove.
