She was predeceased by: her husband Don Gordon Parks; and her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Ruth Cheek Kivett. She is survived by: her children, Linda D. Parks of Mt. Airy and David C. Parks (Carolyn) of Ramseur; her siblings, Wanda Palmer (Gary) of Asheboro, James Thomas Kivett (Charlotte) of Franklinville and Terry Kivett (Iris) of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Seth Parks (Teresa) of Ramseur and Lindsay Hylton (Matthew) of Salem, VA.; and her great grandchildren, Brandon Parks, Emily Parks, Joshua Parks, Makala Parks, Eli Hylton and Ethan Hylton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
