She was predeceased by: her former husband Daniel Ewing Shaw Jr.; her husband Vernon Brown; her son Ronald Lee Shaw; her mother Evie Light; her stepfather J. R. Light; her grandparents, John and Martha Stanley; and her siblings, Nancy Craven and John Roy Light, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Lawson (Ralph) of Ramseur and Danny Shaw (Jane) of Ramseur; her grandchildren, Cheryl Ollis (Tommy), Angela Delli Colli (Jim), Tara Burgess (Anthony), Dana Collins (Mike) and Chad Lawson (Shannon); and her stepson Terry Lee Brown of Siler City. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
