He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldridge Phillips and Mary Melvin Phillips; and his brothers, Sammy Phillips and Kenneth Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Alton; his children, Lonnie Megan Phillips of Hubert, NC, Leslie Godfrey (Shawn) of Thomasville and Carmon Kyle Phillips (Jodie) of Greensboro; his stepchildren, Gale Blackwelder (Robert) of Ramseur, Linville Hodgin, Jr. (Crystal) of Eden, Becky Kabler (James) of Liberty, Justin Hodgin of Ramseur and Michelle Ellefson (David) of Liberty; his granddaughter Haleigh Phillips; his sister-in-law Linda Phillips of Elizabethtown, NC; his niece Samantha Phillips; and his great-nephew Jackson Phillips. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren.
