She was predeceased by: her husband Hampton Scotton; her son Richard Scotton; her parents, London Braford and Annie Hewett Brafford; and her brothers, L. H. Brafford and Chester Brafford.
She is survived by: her children, Church and Jay Scotton (Ronda) of Coleridge; her sisters, Shirley Johnson of Portsmouth, VA, Annie Faye Braxton of Pittsboro and Victoria Wade (Bill) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Jayson Scotton, Jaron Scotton, Julikaye Scotton and Melissa Mitchell.
