He was predeceased by: his parents, Elisha T. Long, and Mary Gallimore Long, Sr.; his stepmother Floy Kearns Long; and his brothers, Lacy Long, John C. "J. C." Long, Elisha T. "Junior" Long, Jr. and Joe Long.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Gibson Long; his children, Kimberly Canoy (Matt) of Ramseur, Reggie Long (Donna) of Robbins and Mike Long (Tina) of Seagrove; his sister Mary Louise Steedman of Morrow, GA.; his grandchildren, Madison Canoy, Mason Canoy, Chesley Cox (Ethan), Carter Long and Colton Long (Mary); and his great grandchildren, Reid Long, Gibson Long, Wyatt Cox and Lakelyn Cox.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Deep River Baptist Church (4095 Deep River Church Rd, Ramseur, NC 27316). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
