He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Handy and Mildred Harris Handy. He is survived by: his children, William Handy, Jr. (Bill) and Dr. Markelle Handy; his daughter-in-law Melissa Sien-Handy; his grandchildren, Cameron Handy of Annapolis, MD, Emily Handy of Annapolis, MD, Zachary Handy of Annapolis, MD and Miranda Handy of Annapolis, MD; and his siblings, Dr. John Handy (Atlanta) and Chie Handy. He is also survived by cousins, and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Davie St. Presbyterian Church (300 E Davie St, Raleigh, NC 27601). A burial will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (120 Prospect Ave, Raleigh, NC 27603).
