He was predeceased by: his mother Hoke Jefferson Stephens of Willow Springs; and his former wives, Judy Haley Stephens and Jimi McDaniel Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Carole McDaniel Stephens of Raleigh; his stepdaughter Christina McDaniel; his children, Haley Stephens Steadman (Tim) of Raleigh, Susan Stephens Taylor (Henry) of Raleigh and Jeff Stephens (Celeste) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Jeff Stephens, Jr. (Paige) of Wendell, Caroline Steadman, Luke Steadman of Charlotte, Garrett Stephens of Greenville and Claire Taylor of Raleigh; and his sister Mary Helen Bunn of Smithfield.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Renaissance Funeral Home (7615 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615).
