She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherwood Chappell and Mary Chappell; and her sister Mary Chappell (Robert "Bob" Turbiville). She is survived by: her children, Bob, Jim Herring (Barb), Debbie Boyd (Ed), Barbara Haas (Chuck), Keely Stone (Phillip) and Melinda Hickman (Jim); her grandchildren, Candice Casper (Mike), Scarlett Miller (Brett), Robert Young (Brooke), Trevor Young, Phillip David Stone (Jennifer), Carl Haas, Erik Haas, Catie Miller, Kendrick Miller and Jon Hickman; her great grandchildren, Landon, Payton, Hayden, Rowan, Raegan, Emmy, Dezi, Haylee, Oakleigh, Daniel, Magen, Myra and Julia; and her caregivers, Peggy, Desirae, Lisa Marie and Shirley.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
