He is survived by: his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Friedensen; his wife Teresa Kriegsman of Raleigh; his son-in-law Andrew Broeker of Maryland; his sister Fran Gordon; his brother-in-law Bert of Winston-Salem; his brother Robert Friedensen; his sister-in-law AnnMarie of Virginia; his niece Annie Friedensen Rodriguez (Damian); his great-nephew Diego; his great-niece Ramona of Brooklyn; his niece Rachel Friedensen (Anastasia Polda) of Minnesota; his nephew Michael Gordon (Krista Westerlund) of Maryland; his father-in-law Melvin Kriegsman (Carmen) of Greensboro; his brother-in-law Jeff Kriegsman (Vicky) of Raleigh; and his nephews, Jacob Kriegsman (Caroline) of Raleigh and Daniel Kriegsman (Ashley Berg) of Raleigh.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Temple Beth Or (5315 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh, NC 27612). A shiva was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery (450 N State St, Raleigh, NC 27601).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to The ALS Foundation, ALS United North Carolina, Team Gleason, Temple Beth Or, Chabad of Cary, Chabad Young Professionals or a charity of the donor's choice.
