He was predeceased by: his wife Othella Berger; his granddaughter Jennifer Pope; and his former wife Audrey Berger. He is survived by: his sister Sharon Mazurkiewicz (Walter); his children, Jerry "Allen" Wilkins, Jr. (Connie), Peggy Liles, Pamela Ingalls (Preston), Christine Tucker Smith, William "Scott" Wilkins and Bryan Berger; and his brothers, Rabbi John Adkins, Bill Borden and Cang Huynh. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and closest friends.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Apex Cemetery (207 W Moore St, Apex, NC 27502).
