It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rachel Strother Chappell of Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William E. Strother and Thelma Horne Strother; her husband John Bruce Chappell; and her brothers, Jimmy and Tony Strother.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Chappell Holland (Greg) of Southport and Glenn Chappell of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Mitchell Pace (Stacy), Rachel Chappell of Raleigh, Randi Pace (Jon), Ashley Holland Griffin (Kevin) and Britany De Leon (Anthony). She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bay Leaf Baptist Church (12200 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27614). A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at the Bay Leaf Baptist Church Cemetery (12220 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27614).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NC State School of Veterinary Medicine in Rachel's honor, the American Heart Association, or to a charity of your choice.
