It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Polly Ann Jenkins of Raleigh, North Carolina, born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William P. "Bill" Sharpe and Sallie Herring Sharpe; her husband H. L. Pete Jenkins; and her sister Betty Lou Bruton of Candor, NC.. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Jenkins (Dana) of Henderson, Kit Jenkins of Raleigh and Lee Bishop; her grandchildren, Rev. Rachel Jenkins Shepherd and John Homer Jenkins (Allison); and her sisters, Susan Houg, Sallie McCauley (Andy) and Virginia. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to the music fund at First United Methodist Church (117 S. Academy Street, Cary NC, 27511) or the Pete Jenkins Scholarship fund at the School of Engineering at N.C. State University (with checks made payable to the NC State Engineering Foundation, and mailed to NCSU, Campus Box 7901, Raleigh NC 27695).
