It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Orville Kenneth Barnes in Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Orville leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Barnes; his children, Robin, Lauren Clancy (Michael), Susan and Noah Barnes (Jane); his grandchildren, Ian Clancy (Cecilia), Hallie Clancy (Gabriel Peterson), Forest Clancy, Linde LaChance, Jenny LaChance, Isabella Barnes and Oscar Barnes; and his brother Bill Barnes (Julie).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sail, Power and Steam Museum (75 Mechanic St, Rockland, ME 04841).
