She was predeceased by: her father John Glenn Herbert; and her daughter Amy Lauren Watters. She is survived by: her mother Sylvia Carter Herbert; her husband Ward Emerson Bennett; her daughter Whitney Watters McCarty (Steven); her granddaughter Harper Elizabeth McCarty; her sisters, Michelle Herbert King and Melissa Herbert Simpson; and her sister-in-law Ann Watters Matteson (Glenn) of Raleigh.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Renaissance Funeral Home (7615 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hayes Barton Baptist Church (1800 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27608).
