She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Sherman and Audrey Oliver Sherman; and her husband Robert McCoy. She is survived by: her daughter Kisha McLain (Jerome); her grandchildren, Tasha McLain and Roman McLain; her children, Ernest McCoy and Patty Brooks (Willie); her sister Frances Sherman; her daughters-in-law, Vivian McCoy and Carolyn McCoy; and her siblings-in-law, Bobby McCoy (Carolyn), Rita Cleveland and Ethel Rosenboro. She is also survived by other loving relatives and caring friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Martin Street Baptist Church (1001 E Martin St, Raleigh, NC 27601). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery (5120 VA-47, Chase City, VA 23924).
