She was predeceased by: her grandson Lewis Anthony Pope; her daughter Louisa Hancock; her sister Betty Hobby; and her pet Buckshot. She is survived by: her husband Kerney Hayes; and her sons, Lewis Pope (Lisa), Thomas Pope (Kathy), Michael Pope (Laura) and Stephen Hayes. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. James United Methodist Church (3808 St James Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Duke Memorial Baptist Church (3976 NC-581, Louisburg, NC 27549). A reception was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the St. James United Methodist Church (3808 St James Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604).
