He was predeceased by: his parents, Egbert L. Davis, Jr. and Eleanor Layfield Davis; his parents-in-law, Howard and Adelaide Holderness; and his sisters-in-law, Lucinda Holderness and Julie Holderness.
He is survived by: his wife Alexandra Holderness Davis (Sandra); his children, Alexandra Hipps (Doug) of Charlotte, Bert Davis (Fran) of Boone, Lucinda Davis and Pam Davis of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Douglas Hipps, Lawrence Hipps, Sandra Davis, Julia Caricola (Sean), Eli Davis and Frances Davis; his great grandchild Lina Alexandra Caricola; his siblings, Linwood Davis (Martha), Anne Hummel (Sam) and Patsy Duke (Rusty); and his in-laws, Howard Holderness (Mary), Richard Holderness and Pam Hassenfelt (Steve).
A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the White Memorial Presbyterian Church (1704 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608).
