He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smith (C. K.) and Lois Smith. He is survived by: his sons, Bryan Smith (Rachel) of Asheville, Scott Smith (Jenn) of Cary, Brad Smith (Steph) of Cary and Joel Smith (Tanner) of Nashville; his sister Jane; and his grandsons, Jack and Peter.
