It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Friederike Hess MacHilek of Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on January 16, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Rudolf Machilek; her children, Rudi M. Machilek (Gail), Monica Sweeney (Craig), Yvonne Johnson (Murray) and Susan Boone (David); and her grandchildren, Rudi J. Machilek (Brooke), Heather Ange (Wesley), Tyler Sweeney (Courtney), Colin Sweeney (Jacqueline), Brice Sweeney, Taylor Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Matthew Boone and Allison Boone. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
