With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deacon Ray Sherwin Debnam Sr. (Raleigh, North Carolina), who passed away on January 21, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn T. E. Debnam of Raleigh, NC; his sons, Ray Sherwin Debnam, II (Melody Graham) of Charlotte, NC and Brian Chesley Steward Debnam (Tiffany Cales) of Wake Forest, NC; his sisters, Josephine Debnam Drayton (Wallace) of Raleigh, NC., Robbie Lorraine Graham (Horace) of Raleigh, NC. and Cynthia Debnam Bussey of Acworth, Georgia.; his sisters-in-law, Gwenn L. Clements (Michael) and Cynthia Steward; his brothers, William Debnam (Louise) of Los Angeles and Wesley Debnam (Janice Loving) of Marietta, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Madison Olivia Debnam of Charlotte, NC, Karsyn Lilybeth Debnam of Charlotte, NC, Harper Kennedy Elizabeth Debnam of Wake Forest, NC., Gabriel Augustus Debnam of Charlotte, NC and Lochlan Asher Debnam of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (3703 Tryon Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at the Montlawn Memorial Park (2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603).
