He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonzo Hayes and Lessie Hayes; and his brothers, Alfonzo and Lee Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Aaron Hayes, Jeffrey "King" Hayes and Anthony Hayes; his granddaughters, Jennifer K. Hayes, Kelly E. Hayes, Katrina L. Hayes and Laura Lynn Hayes; and his great grandchildren, Jazmine, Willie, Brandon, Grace and Kendall.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home- Garner (1200 Benson Rd, Garner, NC 27529). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
