He is survived by: his son Christopher Purham, Jr. of Raleigh; his mother Viola Purham of Raleigh; his sisters, Fessie Taylor of Raleigh and Rowena Holman (Henry) of Knightdale; his grandchild Cayden Purham; his nieces and nephews, Gerda Holman, Millicent Edwards, Corbin Coleman, Henry Holman, Jr. and Troy Holman; his great-niece Kaelyn Coleman; and his friends, Dolores Coward and Doris Haynes.

Viewing was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lea Funeral Home (2500 Poole Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lea Funeral Home Chapel (2500 Poole Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“To the family of Chris, I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I have had the privilege of working with him for a year and can only say that he was a wonderful person and a great co-worker. He brought an immense sense of calm to me and others. He was a genuinely good guy whose presence was always appreciated. We often laughed at the funniest things. At other times, he would share fond memories of his son, his mother, and sisters. Chris will be dearly missed. May peace be with his family.”
