He is survived by: his children, Paul Sammons (Phyllis) of New Bern, Sylvia Dobbin (Robert) of Clayton, Sharon Sweeney (Sebastian) of Raleigh, Barry Sammons of Raleigh, Carla Renee'Davis of Raleigh and Kurtis Taylor (Karen) of Wake Forest. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Springfield Baptist Church (4309 Auburn Knightdale Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
