It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Matthews (Raleigh, North Carolina), who passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barbara Matthews to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Horton Burnette and Etta Burnette of Castalia, NC.; her husband Kay Matthews; and her brother Herbert Burnette. She is survived by: her children, Cathy Stevens (Mike Capps) and Tommy Matthews; her grandsons, Chris McLamb and Jonathan McLamb (Candice); her great grandchildren, Avery McLamb, Jacob, Bryce and Colin McLamb; and her siblings, Wade Burnette (Susan) and Lillie Granger.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home- Garner (1200 Benson Rd, Garner, NC 27529). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Montlawn Memorial Park (2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603).
