It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norma Jean Lanier McClendon of Raeford, North Carolina, born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on May 24, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathaniel J. Lanier and Naomi Plummer Lanier; and her brothers, Jackie Lanier and David Lanier. She is survived by: her husband Bill E. McClendon, Jr.; her children, Melanie Cifers (Daryl), William "Billy" McClendon, III (Amy), Charles Daniel McClendon (Heather) and Natalie McClendon (Rodney); her grandchildren, Cayleigh, Cassie, Charlie, Madison, Sydney, Harley and Kylie; her sister Gloria Gibson of Clyde, NC.; her stepmother Geraldine Criswell Lanier; and her aunt Edna Yeakle.
