He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Daniel and Mary Bethea Black; his wife Linda Faye Black; and his grandchild Trai Harris. He is survived by: his children, Lori Nichols (Wayne), Lee Black (Cheryl), Melissia Harris (Roy) and Amy Thompson (LaBron); his sister Joyce Ballard; his grandchildren, Josh Roberts (Kaleigh), Bekah Roberts, Michael Harris, Sean Black (Trinity), LaBron Thompson, II, Sabrina Black and Evan Thompson; his great grandchildren, Aliee, Josi, Colt Harris, Micah and Rowan Black; and his pets, Daisy, Hershey and Sam.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Boles Funeral Home Chapel (425 W Pennsylvania Ave, Southern Pines, NC 28387). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Flat Branch Covenant Church Cemetery (130 Darroch Rd, Bunnlevel, NC 28323).
