It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Buzako of Raeford, North Carolina, born in Elmira, New York, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Buzako and Grace Buzako; his wife Judith Ann Buzako; and his siblings, Kathryn Ann Buzako and Michael Buzako.

He is survived by: his sons, John Buzako (Amie) of Raeford, NC and Patrick Buzako (Vivian) of Holland Patent, NY; his daughter-in-law Kristi Hewes of Las Vegas, NV; and his siblings, Joseph Buzako (Peg) of Pine City, NY, Richard Buzako (Barbara) of Parker, CO and Marion Losey of Rochester, NY. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home (858 Lake St, Elmira, NY 14901). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:45 AM at the St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery (623 Franklin St, Elmira, NY 14904). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Maureen Holly wrote a sympathy message

“I haven't seen my cousin John in years. He used to deliver fuel and stop at our house. Without knocking he would come in and yell "where the hell is my coffee" We had moved unexpectantly. John came in the door yelling for his coffee and met our new tenant in her nightgown. She did give him coffee, but it was the quickest cup he ever drank. I used to enjoy our visits over coffee. Condolences to my cousins. Maureen Hunt Holly.”
