We are sad to announce that on November 20, 2024, at the age of 77, Haywood Rivers Jr. (Raeford, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Haywood is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Haywood's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He is survived by: his significant other Ernistine Harris; and his children, Eric Steve Rivers, Latoya Hopps and Jasmine Hopps.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pauline T Buie Chapel (543 Vass Rd, Raeford, NC 28376). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Word of Life Temple (1988 Fayetteville Rd, Raeford, NC 28376). A committal service will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the New Shady Grove Church Cemetery (1015 Gold Hill Rd, Shannon, NC 28386).
