She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Edward Chaffin and Mary Louise Brown Chaffin; her brother Alva Lynn Chaffin; and her son Michael Allen Covington. She is survived by: her children, Shelley Covington Wray (Billy) of Fayetteville, NC, Luther Joel Covington, III, Halifax, GrandchildrenValerie A. York and Sara J. Navarro.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Powell Funeral Home (1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
