He was predeceased by: his parents, Gideon Cummings and Janie Bryant Cummings; and his siblings, Jerry Cummings, Waymon Cummings, Herman Cummings, Susie Jane Cummings, Marie Cummings Hunt, Cora Ann Cummings Locklear and Louise Cummings Ransom.
He is survived by: his sons, Glenn Cummings Jr. (Kristy) and Telford Ray Cummings (Shannon); his adoptive son Jimmy Thomas; his siblings, Gideon Jr. Locklear of Raeford, Chancey Lawrence Locklear of Raeford and Lucille Jacobs (Nucy) of Raeford; his grandchildren, Kayla Renee Cummings, Glenn Cummings III, Telford Jr. Cummings (TJ), Hailey Jones and Gabriel Cummings; and his nieces, Carol Lynn Cummings (Daisy) and Janet Cummings Cooper (Speed Buggy).
