With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Esther McRae of Raeford, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 22, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband James Walter McRae, Sr.; and her children, Alice Stewart, Carrie Purcell, James McRae Jr., Beatrice Ray, Gloria Stephen, Leo McRae, Larry McRae and Debra McRae.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Pauline T Buie Chapel (543 Vass Rd, Raeford, NC 28376). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Freedom Chapel AME Zion Church (270 New Freedom Church Rd, Raeford, NC 28376). A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Freedom Chapel Church Cemetery (850 Shankle Rd, Shannon, NC 28376).
