He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. D. L. McGuire and Georgiana McGuire; and his siblings, Marvin McGuire, Leon McGuire, Calvin McGuire, Annie Parsons, Mary Joyce Samples, Patricia Riley, Gloria Jean McGuire and Bernice Withrow.

He is survived by: his children, Kenny and Angie; his wife Ann McGuire of Raeford, NC; his children, Kenneth Merrill (Kim) of Lexington, KY, Angela Williams of Raleigh, NC and Dereasa Jennings of Wilmington, OH; his grandchildren, Ashley Bell of Greensboro, NC and Juvon Williams of Raleigh, NC; and his great grandchildren, Jamil Williams and Jordyn Williams of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“My deepest condolences to the McGuire & Merrill family. Mr. McGuire was always very kind and fun to talk to. From the day I met them I was treated like part of the family. They nicked named me Shelley and to this day when hear Shelley I think about them Rest In paradise Mr. McGuire! May God continue to be the family.
