He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Wheeler and Betty Jean Moore Crowl; his siblings, Gail Blue and Steven Wheeler; and his granddaughter Catherine Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Evans Wheeler; his sons, Andy Whitaker of West End, Randy Whitaker of Raeford and Christopher Wheeler (Christina) of Vass; his grandchildren, Savannah Whitaker Burton (Patrick), Noah Whitaker, Caleb Whitaker, Sophia Whitaker, Baylee Wheeler and Chase Wheeler; his great grandchild Shane Burton; and his siblings, Debbie Marion of Carthage, Cindy Walker of Robbins, Billy Wheeler of Carthage and John Crowl of Ashley Heights.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cox Memorial Funeral Home (4888 US-1, Vass, NC 28394).
