With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles A Shotwell (Raeford, North Carolina), born in Cumberland, North Carolina, who passed away on February 2, 2020 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas J. Shotwell and Mary Roth Shotwell; his son Billy Saunders; and his brothers, Ivan Shotwell and Bunk Shotwell.

He is survived by: his wife Jannie Freeman Shotwell of Fayetteville, NC; his children, Jeffrey Saunders (Teresa) of Fayetteville, NC, Jay Shotwell (Felicia) of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Saunders of Fayetteville, NC, Gerald Sox of Fayetteville, NC, Neal Saunders (Kim) of Shelby, NC, Sharon Gaskins of Fayetteville, NC, Diane Smith (Robert) of Fayetteville, NC and Patty Saunders of Dunn, NC.; and his brother Jody Shotwell (Pam) of Hope Mills, NC. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
