It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lonnie Baxter Cooper of Purlear, North Carolina, who passed away on September 3, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Floyd Cooper and Mary Ann Blackburn Cooper; his daughter Karen Louise Cooper; and his siblings, Arvil Cooper and Pansy Cooper Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Miller Cooper; his son Thomas Cooper (Vicky) of Purlear; his grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Cooper (Ashleigh) of Lewisville, Danielle Cooper Wingler (Cody) of Wilkesboro and Chandler McKinlee Cooper of Purlear; and his great grandchildren, James Lawrence Cooper and Nora Paige Wingler.
The family has requested no flowers and no food.
